Preparation of business case for Letterkenny Fire Station underway

Donegal County Council has confirmed that the preparation of a business case for Letterkenny Fire Station is underway.

It’s expected that it will be completed by mid-July.

Councillor Gerry McMonagle has called on fire service management to halt any planned operational capacity changes at the Letterkenny station, including the removal of the second fire engine, incident command vehicle and water tanker until the business case is completed, which the Council has agreed to.

The Donegal Firefighters Association, in March, warned that planned cuts to the service would ‘threaten public safety’.
