
The argument that the UK cannot withdraw from the European Convention on Human Rights because of its commitments under the Good Friday Agreement is being dismissed as entirely groundless.
That’s according to the authors of a paper from the Policy Exchange.
In a speech last week to launch Reform UK’s plans to tackle illegal migration, Nigel Farage argued the Good Friday Agreement could be renegotiated to remove references to the convention.
That’s been criticized by politicians in Ireland.
