Social Democrats TD, Eoin Hayes has apologised for dressing up as Barack Obama for Halloween.
It’s the second controversy to face the deputy since being elected.
Social Democrats’ TD Eoin Hayes wore brown makeup on his face to dress up a former US President Barack Obama for Halloween 16 years ago.
Photos of the costume are published on the front of the Irish Daily Mail.
In a statement, the Dublin Bay South TD said the costume was completely inappropriate and he is profoundly sorry.
Eoin Hayes was readmitted to the Social Democrats in July after being suspended after he supplied incorrect information on shares he had in a company with links to the Israeli military
It all comes ahead of the Social Democrats think-in, which kicks off this morning – just as party leader Holly Cairns returns from maternity leave.
