Almost 23,000 people in Donegal are eligible for a free Public Services Companion Pass.
As of this week, those over 70 years of age can have another person, aged 16 or older, travel with them for free on all public and certain private transport services operated under the Free Travel Scheme.
Minister of State, Charlie McConalogue, has confirmed that the Department of Transport has written to people in Donegal to inform them of their entitlement.
