The community in Burnfoot have woken up without water again this morning.
Local Cllr Jack Murray says it’s totally unacceptable in 2025.
He says the persistent outages are due to two vacant care taker positions.
Cllr Murray says the staff left their roles a month ago, and Uisce Eireann needs to replace them as a matter of urgency:
In response, Uisce Éireann says it is undergoing considerable change and restructuring, which includes staff transferring from Local Authorities, as well as externally recruiting where vacancies arise.
Several vacancies, the utility says have recently been filled in the Inishowen area, and a public recruitment competition is underway to continue to fill other positions.
