Catherine Connolly’s taken a strong lead over Heather Humphrey’s in the race for the Aras.
The latest Ipsos B&A poll for the Irish Times shows the independent candidate is 18 points ahead of her Fine Gael rival with just over a week to go to polling.
The survey also found more than half believe the constitution should be changed to make it easier for candidates to run for the presidency.
