Drivers with hard-to-read licence plates could now be fined €60.
From this week, gardaí can issue a fixed notice for licence plate offences through the Garda Mobility App.
It follows the passage of the 2023 Road Safety Act, which included penalties for people who don’t have appropriate front and back plates.
The rules apply to colour, shape, design and font, according to the Irish Times.
