Irwin brothers share the podium at Bishopscourt

Rhys Irwin returned home to Donegal this week as the Quattro Supersport Champion 2025 following a record breaking season with 6 wins, 3 second places and 4 third place finishes totalling 13 podium finishes at the British Superbikes Championship.
One of the most popular racers in the series without exception his rivals cheered the Kilmacrennan youngster’s success with a guard of honour in his victory lap at Brands Hatch for him to take the title by 4 points.
An emotional Rhys paid tribute to the other competitors and his team Gearlink Suzuki by Performance 15 Michael, Ben Ivan his father and Barry with a special word of thanks to his brother Caolán who gave up his own Ulster Championship title win to support him in the UK.
With no down time to enjoy his success he and the team travelled straight to the Sunflower to compete in the Supersport races.
He was joined by his brother Caolán, not as his team mate but as his rival, racing for Burrows engineering on their Yamaha 600.
Having not raced a 600 for 3 years Caolán had no expectations as the Ulster Championship was hotly contested.
In Race 1, Rhys took an immediate lead finishing the race 15 seconds ahead of his closest rival.
In Race 2, he put on a masterclass to finish 20 seconds ahead of his closest rival with Caolán finding his race pace putting the Burrows engineering firmly on the podium a hair’s breadth behind the newly crowned Ulster Champion McGreevy.
During his post race interview Rhys said he was delighted to end his amazing season in the BSB at home so that he could meet all his fans that supported him all year in the UK.
Caolán was delighted to be back racing and on the podium with both brothers and the entire family admitting that it was time for a few weeks rest before winter training starts in December.
