The man who died after being seriously injured in the early hours of Sunday morning has been named as 69-year-old Derry man Patrick Flanagan.
Police received a report that at approximately 1.35 a.m., an injured man had been found in the Foreglen Road area of Dungiven.
He later died from his injuries in hospital.
It is believed that Patrick was struck by a vehicle in a hit-and-run incident.
Police are now appealing to anyone with information or dashcam footage to come forward.
