Donegal sheep farmers are set to receive over €2 million in funding as the Government rolls out the Sheep Improvement Scheme.
The Scheme plays a role in enhancing animal health and welfare, with €12 per breeding ewe provided for improved welfare actions.
When combined with the €11.50 per ewe available under the 2025 National Sheep Welfare Scheme, total supports will reach €23.50 per ewe in 2025, a strong increase on the 2024 rate.
Minister of State, Marian Harkin says the scheme provides “vital support” to sheep enterprises and wider rural economies.
