Its one of a series of proposals Justice Minister Jim O’Callaghan will bring to cabinet tomorrow as efforts are made to tighten the rules around international protection.
According to the Irish Times it could see asylum seekers earning between 97 and 150 euro a week pay a charge of 15 euro weekly, while those earning up to 405 euro would have to contribute a weekly charge of 119 euro.
Measures to restrict the family reunification process will also be discussed by Minister’s at their weekly meeting tomorrow.
