Government to hire 44 new staff in 11 teams to tackle assessment of need backlog

11 new teams with 44 staff will be hired next year, in an effort to tackle the backlog of assessments of need in the country.

Each unit will include a psychologist, a speech and language therapist, an occupational therapist, and an administrator.

It’s part of a series of changes to the assessment of need process being brought in by Government.

Children’s Minister Norma Foley says the hiring process for these new staff will begin in January.
