Psychiatrists warn of mental health workforce crisis in NI

Psychiatrists have warned of a “workforce crisis” facing mental health services in Northern Ireland.

A survey from all five health trusts found 29 per cent of consultant posts were either vacant or covered by locum doctors last year.

That’s a 25 per cent increase on 2023.
