Volunteers remove 70kg of litter from Rossnowlagh Beach, including giant welly boot

Almost 70kg of litter has been removed from Rossnowlagh Beach during a weekend clean-up.

The Friends of Rossnowlagh Beach carried out the clean across the beach, dunes and car parks.

Among the more unusual items found were a giant welly boot, shotgun cases, socks, a paint brush, children’s glasses, a large pipe, dog waste bags and unopened beer bottles.

The group says its next beach clean will take place on Sunday, June 21st, along with a dunes awareness event.
