Almost 250 thousand Euro has been granted for schools in the Donegal Gaeltacht to run the Irish Language Assistants Scheme.
The scheme is aimed at supporting the preservation and strengthening of the Irish language in the Gaeltacht.
Part of its focus is to encouraged children learning Irish to use it as their main language and not just in the classroom.
