NPHET says almost all Covid restrictions, including Covid Certs, can end in the coming days. It’s issued a letter to the government after a lengthy meeting earlier today. Two people remain in hospital this evening following a serious two vehicle collision on the N15 between Laghey and Ballintra. The crash, involving a car and an articulated lorry, occurred at 4.10pm. Two people were taken to Sligo University Hospital for treatment of their injuries. Investigations are ongoing. The road is expected to remain closed

A Garda investigation has been launched following the discovery of a man’s body in “unexplained circumstance”. At approximately 7:30pm on Friday evening, the body of a man in his 50s was discovered lying in a laneway behind a row of houses in the vicinity of Knockalla Drive in Buncrana. The body remains at the scene.
