7,354 new cases of Covid-19 reported

7,354 new cases of Covid-19 have been reported today. There are 3,294 PCR-confirmed cases, while 4,060 people registered a positive antigen test through the HSE portal. 608 patients are in hospital, which is a drop of 26 on yesterday. 54 are in ICU, which is an increase of one.

Booster vaccines approved for 12-15 year olds

Booster vaccines have been approved for children aged between 12 and 15. Health Minister Stephen Donnelly has accepted a recommendation from the National Immunisation Advisory Committee. This age-group will be offered a Covid booster six months after their second jab. The same gap will apply between a Covid infection and a third dose.
