A major power outage is affecting West Donegal this morning. Over 4,200 properties are currently without power in the Dungloe area. ESB say they are working to repair the fault. Power is estimated to be restored at 8:30am this morning.

A car has been seized after Gardai from Donegal Town observed the vehicle being driven by someone whom they knew to be disqualified. When stopped yesterday evening, the banned driver produced a driving licence that was suspected to be fraudulent. One of the front tyres of the car was also noted to be dangerously worn.

A man and woman have been charged with a Stephen’s Day murder in County Down. Mark Dorrian, who was 50, was found unconscious in a flat in Newtownards. He’d sustained multiple injuries and died later in hospital. The two detained, will appear in court tomorrow.
